Today, Steve Jobs, ex-CEO of Apple passed away (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011). Steve jobs was responsible for the meteoric rise of apple, from a lagging Computer company, to a company that has its fingers in many levels of technology, starting from the music player business with its iPod, all the way up to its iPad tablet, which has taken over the world by storm. It is a sad day, not just for Apple fan boys, but for everyone who can appreciate technology. Steve Jobs is responsible for the vision that drove apple to where it is now, making almost every decision on his own, and guiding the company to greatness. Read on for more.

It is easy for people to pick sides in the technology race, Choosing Apple, or Android, or now Windows. And while these devices are now common, its hard to remember the day when the RAZR was the pinnacle of phone engineering. There was no App store, phones were compared by how small they could be, and the processors were about the equivalent of a calculator (Ok, maybe a little exaggerated, but still). What we fail to realize is that the iPhone changed the game, and while other platforms might have more features, or better options, without the original iPhone, the technology scene would not be where it is now.

And now, with the iPad, I feel that we are finally getting to the future that we saw as kids, where tablet devices where everywhere, and everything is interconnected through the internet. This was Steve Jobs vision, he wanted to bring technology to the future, and I think he succeeded. I don’t think apple is perfect, but it has paved the way for other companies, innovated and strengthened consumer technology to the point where everyone is comparing their product to theirs.

Anyway, the point of all this is that without Steve Jobs, technology today would be radically different, and the world has definitely become a better place because of him. So Steve, here’s to you, and thanks for paving the road for the future! You will be missed!

Oh, and one more thing!

I liked your turtle necks 🙂
